  Anticipation ...
   September 10, 2007.

Tonight will be my first night back at ITT Tech after a 2 week break between quarters. I start my third quarter with honors from the previous. Getting a B in College Math I bummed me out, however, I look forward to attempting to get an A this quarter in College Math II. My tutor will have his work cut out for him, because I fear I may have forgotten all the math I was taught over the two week break. O_O Eep.

Anyway, yesterday was a fun day. I ran to the store to do the grocery shopping with my ma. There was a new yogurt style health drink that is supposed to help lower cholesterol, and they had a free sample tasting table ... So, I was looking over the information at the table because I know a few people in my fam with cholesterol problems. I was blessed without that, praise the lord! So the woman at the table sees me reading the sign and tells me "Oh sorry dear, that's not for you. Children and Pregnant Women can't have any." I looked down at my tummy, which was sticking out because the way I was standing and the shirt I was wearing ... and never will wear again ... I rolled my eyes and told her I wasn't pregnant. To which she started apologizing over and over. Gawd, I need to really start working out.

Anyway, The second version of Dressup Chrissy is almost complete! YAY! As everyone should know by now, the old version sported the old art style of Chrissy when I first designed her, and now that she's been redesigned (and looks a whole lot better) I decided to make a Dressup Chrissy part 2.

I was able to figure out a bit of code that was difficult to work out, which now makes the game even more fun! You'll be able to change her hairstyle! The bangs of which will stay the same, because that's the main focus of her look, but I added a few changes to the back! I also made it so you can change her makeup, normally, like me ... she isn't even wearing any. LOL! ^_^

Of course, there is a special someone who's a fan of my work who always asks me about the progress of the Chibi Chrissy game. I reworked the sprites on this game as well and I'm currently working on bad guys and levels for the game, while trying to tweak out a small problem with the game code.

I will keep everyone updated with the progress of the games as I get closer to completing them!

Luv,
Chrissy.

  My Art Adventure ...
   September 03, 2007.

I went to Dragon*Con this weekend and showed my artwork to quite a few people. I wanted to network and bring in more traffic to my website, as well as get to know some prefessional artists to find out way of getting into the field. I took my art to various Artists in the industry already to get their advice and opinion on my work. You know how I am. I like feedback, comments, and critique on my work. I prefer constructive criticism however, and if someone gives me criticism and doesn't really explain what they mean it can work my nerves. I don't care when average people to trash my work ... because their opinions to me might be coming from tastes rather than experiences. If they aren't an artist themselves, then they only know what they like and what they dislike and will trash my art if it's a style they don't like. -=shrug=-

But, I wasn't showing my work to just average people at Dragon*Con I was showing it to actual professionals! The first one I showed my makeshift little portfolio too was someone in the Game industry. He asked me what it was I wanted to do with my art. This is something I keep asking myself all the time, and just recently came to a realization on. I really want to do it as a comic series and as cartoons and have it grow from there. So, I told him that. He nodded, then started with the advice. He told me my lines were off, and my focal points were off. I don't know the method or techniques of focal points! I don't even have an official focal points in my art anyway. I also had no clue as to what he meant about the flow of my lines. I was confused by that and didn't know what I should do to correct it aside from look up information on it. He also told me the Anime thing was being used too much and I'd probably never make it doing that unless I work extremely hard on it. Not the kinda stuff I wanted to hear, because well that I already know anyway. Anime is everywhere and just about everyone does it. I also know my artwork isn't the best and isn't going to cut it as is. I know I have to work really hard at this. I'm not a fool ... no other actual insights into my technique were offered except the focal point gripe. Terrific. I smiled and thanked him for his advice, then went back to the hotel room and broke down.

I didn't want to show my work to anyone else after that, but my friend Aleathia took me to see Joseph Micheal Linsner and Eva Hopkins. They are huge names in the comic book world and Joe is the creator of DAWN! Eek ... I had wanted to speak with them the day before ... and Aleathia offered to take me to see them because she knew them from being in the Dawn contests the past few years. After my talk with the game guy I was terrified to even show them my work. I broke down and told Aleathia what the other guy had said, and she insisted on making me see Joe anyway. Boy was I scared.

Aleathia stopped to talk to another artist she knew on the way there, I can't remember what her name was, but her work was awesome! She didn't look at my work, because she was busy with customers at the same time, so she offered me up some advice. Advice that rang so true and really settled my racing thoughts. She said it doesn't matter what age you are when you start , how much talent you have, or how much skill you have. What matters is how bad you want it! Wow, her advice made me feel a lot better, but I was still terrified to see Linsner. He's famous and I felt like I was walking to my doom.

On the way there Aleathia asked me if being an artist was a job I wanted or was it a way of life for me. I answered without having to think about it, it's a way of life! So, she took me to Linsner's table at last. Eva Hopkins was right next to him. I clammed up a little upon first seeing them so Aleathia took charge. She introduced me and told them I was seeking advice and opinions on my art. They both asked to see it right away, they seemed a bit excited. So, I unzipped my trapper keeper and showed them my art. Linsner flipped through the pages and I heard words from his lips I really didn't expect to hear like "Wow" I was ready to faint into the floor before he actually started telling me he thought my work was really good. He, like the last guy asked me what I wanted to do with it, and I again told him comics and cartoons. He stopped at one image and told me he loved how good I was with hands. O_O Eva overhead him as she was talking to someone and quickly leaned over wanting to see what he was talking about. I got nothing but awesome feedback from them both. Linsner told me that if it was comics I wanted to do, that it didn't matter how well I could draw so much as how well I could tell a story through comic panels and how my story would flow. My jaw dropped. Wow, he asked me why I didn't have any comic pages drawn up in my portfolio, and I explained that I just hadn't done any. He told me to work on some comic pages and stick those in there and not to focus so much on pinup shots like I had in the folder. Now, here is some real advice I can understand!

Finally, I asked him about the focal points, and after looking over my work he told me basically that it's a style of drawing but that I didn't need to worry about that. ^_^ Damn! I'm happy as hell and I've a new outlook for the future! I'm going to make Linsner proud of the advice he gave me! I can't wait to express myself through my artwork every day of my life, and it is a way of life to me! I'll never give it up. And, I'll never let someone get me down again, not after that pep talk from the creator of Dawn!

Luv,
Chrissy.

  Website Layout.
   September 03, 2007.

I'm back from Dragon*Con tonight, and it's 12:56 midnight. The website front page has been converted to the new style! YAY! Does anyone have any Feedback, comments, critique? If so, let me know what you think of the sites new look. and, don't tell me you don't like Emerald Green for one, because that's just tough. The name of the site has Emerald in it, and that's the theme. Get over it. I want serious feedback, not a bunch of babyish complaints, please. The rest of the website pages have yet to be converted to the new style. Darkgrammer is working hard on it to make sure it's perfect. He won't just slap it all together to try to get this done quickly. He's devoted to his work and he's doing a wonderful job.

I had a fun but tiresome weekend at Dragon*Con. It's hard work running back and forth between hotels to try to get to different panels and shows ... mainly if you're wearing high heeled boots! Heh, Cosplay and lots of legwork do not mix if you're wearing painful and/or hot costumes.

I dressed as a kinky dominatrix the first day at the Con, and even harassed some poor TV crew. I'll probably be on their little online TV Show for it, and I'll link everyone up when I find it. Whoo! A Dominatrix Chrissy having a bit of fun, should be quite entertaining! ... I hope I can find it. Hmm.

In some good news, I met up with some big named artists who gave me awesome advice and in depth critique on my work. They weren't mean at all, and they pointed out where I can improve and what my strong points were. I love them so much for giving me their time. The most notable were, Joseph Michael Linsner; the creator of Dawn, and Eva Hopkins; the co-colorist for Dawn who co-created the character Dark Ivory. They were so nice to me and really enjoyed my work. I'm going to pick up the pace and work really hard on my work in the following months. They have inspired me!

I'm tired now and need my rest. I'll post more when I am fully rested!

Luv,
Chrissy.

  A Superb News Update!
   August 31, 2007.

Yes! Lots of news to post here today! First off, the Emerald Angel Entertainment website is getting a NEW LOOK! A totally needed overhaul of the layout was called for. The old version was driving me insane, and I really hated it. The author of the old website layout refused to listen to my input for my own website. I wanted Emerald Green ... not Jade Green. Hello it's Emerald Angel Entertainment and The Emerald Tokyo Anime Club! This isn't Jade Angel or Jade Tokyo, Duh! So, I got someone with more experience on layouts to design my site, and he did a wonderful job! Give Darkgrammer a huge round of applause, he really deserves it. I'm in love with this new version of my website, it's so professional looking! It's also easy for me to update the news and everything! It will be up and ready this weekend!

As you may have noticed, Blaklyon Den Productions is no longer a part of Emerald Angel. The head of BDP and I decided it would be best to go our separate ways in that aspect. It is disheartening news for our fans and I'm working out a few deals with BDP before we separate completely so that the fans of our work won't be too upset about the partnership being dissolved.

In lighter news, Dressup Chrissy 2 is finally back under production and I'm happy to announce that it should be ready within the year! Wahoo! Soon, all shall hear my beautiful voice … as part of the game. Haha! Ok ok, I admit it, my voice does grate on a few nerves … but that's part of the character so … take it or leave it! You'll probably leave it … Heehee.

Next, the other games and cartoons I was working on that had been on the backburner for a few months have been dredged up from the depths of my computers memory. They are all receiving much needed graphics overhauls before I get to work on them fully for the final version to be released throughout the year. I know, I know! I've made a lot of promises the past two years about all these games and such … so everyone might think this is another empty promise. Well, I assure you it probably is, but I'm very full of work that all shall enjoy very much. I've reworked the written scripts for the plots of quite a few games and cartoons in the past year, and that was the main holdup. I can't create games for my fans with no character, plot, depth, or excitement! Sure my graphics may be quite pretty in the end, but that won't matter much if you won't play it.

Finally, I'm heading out to Dragon*Con for the weekend to have some fun! Perhaps I'll even run into a fan or two? Who knows? Maybe I'll see you there! This Monday I will be posting new artwork on all my pages as well as on the main site. I'll also be putting up new photos and a blog all about my weekend trip! Next Monday I will be heading to my third quarter of school for more Multimedia Madness at ITT Tech!

Luv,
Chrissy.

  Found!
   July 06, 2007.

I went to my mom's house today to help her with some things and found some of my old artwork stashed in the closet of my old room! It's all so amazing! I forgot I ever did work that good! How could I just let that slip from me? I have been sulking over my current art skills for some time now until I found these today and realized, the talent I strive for is already there, I've just been suppressing my own talents! Time for me to submit these old pieces and inspire myself to do more!

Luv,
Chrissy.

  Chrissy's Quest! In production!
   June 18, 2007.

I've been working off and on for about a year or so on this game project. I was mostly brainstorming and jotting down ideas on paper, most of which were lost or forgotten. Finally I got to working on the actual flash game without any real direction for the plot or anything like that. I've been tossing around the idea of what Chrissy's Quest actually is. Saving one of (or all of) her friends or being sent out to save some unfortunate race of beings under strife. You know, that kinda thing. The plot keeps reforming in my head because the whole time I still really don't have a solid idea for the games storyline ... (just a bunch of jumbled ideas) but do I ever have ideas for the levels. There are many levels in the game being brought up and I'll probably to the dismay of most flash game fans use music loops from Flashkit. Come on, the things are royalty free! You can kiss off if you really think I have the money to spend on paying anyone to score a soundtrack for a half confused plot flash game. I'm still pretty early in my career here.

Now, don't take this post as a advertisement for help. I'm perfectly capable of working out the plot myself and do not want any unsolicited plot suggestions or hopeful writers looking to have their name in the credits. Not that I won't share it where it's due, I just refuse to work with someone who doesn't know my characters and would end up writing a story that didn't fit or twisting my characters to be someone they're not. So, sorry. Save it for you fanfics of my work later. *kiss kiss*

I'll probably scratch down the plot for my work in the following weeks at school. I'm thinking animated cut scenes will be fun. Since I'm taking rapid viz the quarter, it's the perfect opportunity to sketch out some designs for levels, bad guys, and more.

I've gotten most of the scripting and basic work done for this game. Chrissy has been created and is playable. Meaning the codes work. Along with that the levels scroll as you move her, she jumps, you can pick up power ups and gems, you can fall off the levels and die in some places, and there are a few bad things that hurt Chrissy already made. This is going to be fun. Heehee.

Luv,
Chrissy.

  My first day of school.
   March 13, 2007.

Today was my first class. It was Introductions to Personal Computers. Boy I thought it was going to be a breeze because I'm quite good with computers. I know how to to a lot with and too a PC. :/ ... I couldn't have been more wrong! This class is stunningly difficult. It's not impossible, and I can do the work. My mind just wasn't used to thinking. Mainly with math! GASP! Yes, for Intro to the PC classes we had to learn Binary! Ok, that's the 10011000101011100010010101 Codes which is the PC's language, to be more specific the CPU can only understand Binary. Every tiny shred of information on the computer has to be translated into Binary then translated into other languages for the computer and other compnents to work. Wow, my brain feels like I've overclocked it. Basically part of my brain thinks faster than another part. My math portion of my brain is slow heehee. At least I sorta understand Binary now. Hehehehe.

Well I know this much, I'll need to take some tutoring in math and I'm really going to need to study for this class. It's not gonna be as easy as I first thought. Mainly because there will be a quiz for every class I go to for Introduction to Personal Computers.

That and our teacher said he's going to speak in nothing but Binary all through next weeks class if we do poorly on our quiz. O_O And Crap! I don't think he's joking!

I'll be posting all my school progress here. This includes any projects, quiz scores, and grades. So be sure to subscribe if you're interested in my progress.

Luv,
Chrissy.
